Common Issues

Barcode scan is not working

  • Make sure camera permission is enabled
  • Try better lighting
  • Hold the barcode inside the scanning frame
  • If scanning fails, try entering the barcode manually

Product was scanned but not found

CartCompare depends on product lookup data sources such as Open Food Facts. Some products may not yet be available or may have incomplete metadata.

Comparison looks incorrect

Check the package assumptions used in the comparison:

  • Pack count
  • Size of each item
  • Servings per item

These values affect cost-per-serving, cost-per-volume, and protein value calculations.

Is CartCompare giving nutrition or medical advice?

No. CartCompare is intended as a shopping comparison aid and does not provide medical, dietary, or professional nutrition advice.

Known Limitations

CartCompare depends on third-party product data and user-confirmed package assumptions. Some products may be missing, incomplete, or require manual correction.
